Karolina started Velvet Botanical as an invitation for busy friends to slow down and make something together. She envisions it as a home for gatherings hosted in beloved local businesses, and a partner in crafting custom experiences for life’s special occasions, whether a bachelorette, baby shower, bridal celebration, or birthday, or simply a slower way to spend a night out.

Her love of making began early: at twelve, she was stitching miniature embroidery and selling it to collectors. Today she wanders happily between mediums, enjoying music, working with fiber, making “potions” with her son, and tending a garden that is always a work in progress. Many of the flowers in her work come directly from the gardens around her.

Karolina began her career in merchandising at Gap Inc. and ModCloth, collaborating with designers to build product lines from materials sourced around the world, before turning her creativity toward technology and shaping software experiences at Amazon and Google. Those products reached billions, but none offered the quiet satisfaction of crafting side by side with a friend, and so, Velvet Botanical was born.
